Why You Should Avoid Swimsuit Shopping Online

The summer is a great time to get outdoors and visit the local beach to soak up the sun. Sadly, many women find this experience to be frightening because of self-esteem issues related to seeing their body in a swimsuit. Swimsuit season is difficult for a lot of women and teen girls, but it can be made worse if you don’t have a great suit to wear. With the internet readily available, a lot of women are finding it easy to do their shopping online. Unfortunately, you may have a bathing suit delivered that doesn’t fit well or isn’t what was shown in the picture. Sure, you can return the garment to the store, but this is a waste of your time and money, as you’ll often have to pay the postage fees to send the item back.

The issue with ordering swimsuits online is that you can’t try anything on. Out of all types of garments, you need to know what a bathing suit looks like on you before making the decision to purchase it. If you go to a local store, you’re able to take multiple suits into the dressing room to see what they will look like on you. When shopping online, you’re only going by what the suit looks like on a model. The bathing suit might look fantastic on the model but not fit well when you receive it at home. It might be tempting to take advantage of a great deal on the internet or obtain a suit you wouldn’t normally find in your area but unless you’re absolutely sure of the fit before buying, it’s best to stick with local shops that allow you to try the clothing on. The right swimsuit will help you feel more confident when it’s time to hit the beach.

Muslim Swimmers Are Now Allowed To Wear Burkinis

Muslim swimmers in London, England are now able to wear burkinis in swimming competitions. Burkinis are a type of swimsuit that cover the entire body. The Muslim Women’s Sport Foundation sent a special request to the Amateur Swimming Association. The ASA was asked to allow women to wear loose-fitting body suits.

Up until now, swimmers were not allowed to wear body suits during competitions. The reason these types of bathing suits were banned was because many people believed that they had qualities that would enhance one’s performance. This new guideline will only apply to swimmers in amateur competitions. The guidelines also state that the swimmers will have to let the referees know that they will be wearing a burkini prior to the competition.

The referees are not allowed to ask the participant why they want to wear the burkini. They do not want anyone to be uncomfortable. Chris Bostok is the chairman of the ASA Board. He has stated that the changes are a step in the right direction. He hopes that the changes will encourage more people to participate in the swimming competitions. He also hopes that everyone will be able to reach their full potential.

Rimla is a member of the Muslim Women’s Sports Foundation. She has stated that the number of Muslim women participating in sports is growing. That is why it is imperative that governing bodies change to fit the needs of these athletes. The organization is pleased with the changes that the ASA has made.

Study Finds That Public Pools Have A Lot Of Urine

Many people enjoy going to a public pool. It is a well-known fact that some people urinate inside of a pool. However, these pools may have more urine than most people think. A team of researchers tested two Olympic-sized pools for acesulfame-K (ACE), which is a sweetener that is found in urine.

They tested a 220,000 gallon pool. It had 75 liters of urine. They also tested a 110,000 gallon pool. It had 30 liters of urine in it. Additionally, the researchers tested water samples from 250 hot tubs and pools. All of the pools had urine in them. In fact, the pools had 570 times more ACE than tap water.

The reason that the researchers checked for ACE is because it is found in pre-packaged foods. It cannot be metabolized by humans, so the body excretes is through urine. The researchers stated that they did not want to scare anyone with the study. However, they do want people to know that the urine in pools is a public health concern.

Urine itself is sterile. However, when it reacts with chlorine, it forms a compound that can irritate the respiratory system and eyes. It has also been shown to trigger or worsen asthma.

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated that health hazards in public pools have been a concern for a long time. Every year, thousands of pools close due to health and safety violations. Many pools do not have the proper PH for killing germs.

Health Benefits of Swimming

Swimming is an activity that most people engage in for fun. However, studies have shown that numerous health benefits can be associated with this activity.

For instance, during swimming one is forced to hold their breath when underwater hence the body adapts by learning how to use oxygen more efficiently. When inhaling, a swimmer takes in more oxygen and exhales more carbon dioxide which increases tidal volume; this lowers blood pressure and reduces the heart rate.

Fitness and health often go hand in hand, the efficient use of oxygen that is as result of swimming increases the body’s endurance significantly. This makes it easier for one to engage in other forms of exercise such as running with ease, therefore, contributing to a person’s overall fitness.

When swimming, the body uses all the muscles including those that are often underworked. The energy required to engage this muscles leads to the breakdown of excess body fat which improves overall health. Muscles that are often neglected in the daily routine workout such as the traps and deltoids are engaged when swimming.

Swimming is a vigorous activity that gets the blood flowing. Studies have shown that exercises performed under water increase the blood flow to the brain compared to those conducted on land.

Swimming has been found to possess extreme stress relieving benefits. Endorphins that are induced during exercise which in this case is swimming contribute to lowering stress levels. When one is immersed underwater, senses are dulled which creates a feeling of calmness in the body hence reducing stress levels. A few laps around the pool after a long stressful day at the office will do wonders for the body.

Due to efficient cardiovascular performance, reduced cholesterol levels and lower blood pressure regular swimmers appear younger than they are.

Drowning Boy Saved by Man Who Can’t Swim

A recent police report claims that a man who had  never learned how to swim put heroism ahead of practice, leaping into the pool of a New Jersey La Quinta Inn to save a nine-year-old boy from drowning.

Officers with the Fairfield police claim that a Paterson female and her male companion were swimming in the motel’s pool with their five children, ranging in age between 1 and 9 years. None of the pool-goers had learned how to swim and the nine-year-old had gone below the water’s surface.

While the woman’s companion fled to the front desk in order to get help, Randolph Tajada-Perez, a resident of Hazleton, Pennsylvania, overheard the companion’s panicked cries and ran to save the boy. Tajada-Perez was in the middle of checking in when the companion made it to the front desk. While Tajada-Perez had just as little training in swimming as the children or the adult parties involved, he wasted no time in plunging into the pool to save the child. After several attempts, the boy was resuscitated and is currently in stable condition.

The process of drowning is divided up into four stages. The drowning process begins the moment that a person is unable to keep his head above water.

  1. The moment that the body needs to refresh its oxygen supply upon voluntarily holding one’s breath.
  2. Fluids enter the person’s airway or are swallowed.
  3. Oxygen empties the body and breathing stops.
  4. Irreversible brain damage as a result of oxygen deprivation.

Why Swimming Is Great For Your Health

Every type of exercise can benefit your health. However, swimming is different from other types of aerobic exercise. Being in the water lessens the effects of gravity. That is why it is a great choice for people who suffer from osteoarthritis. Many people with this disorder find that other types of exercise are extremely painful.

Studies have shown that swimming can reduce stiffness in the arteries. This is one of the factors that increases the risk of heart problems. It can also lower blood pressure. Swimming is also a great exercise for people who are overweight or obese. Overweight people find that running is too uncomfortable or hot.

Even though swimming is a low-impact exercise, it is extremely effective. Water is dense, so it does put pressure on your joints. However, the pressure is evenly distributed. That is why swimming is much better for your joints than other types of exercise.

When you run or ride your bike, you have a tendency to breathe shallowly. However, when you swim, your breaths are deeper. Additionally, swimming helps you work all of the major muscle groups of your body. That is why swimmers typically have toned bodies.

David Tanner is the research associate at Indiana University. He has stated that people who are interested in swimming will need to start out slowly. You do not want to do too much soon. You can start off by doing three 30 minute sessions per week. Furthermore, you should relax while you are in the water.
