The Life of Greg Secker

Greg Secker is a self-accomplished businessman, entrepreneur, expert trader and one of the most sought after international speakers. He is one name that you won’t fail to notice, within the international foreign exchange scene. This is because he is always giving lessons for people to get better at the business.

 

It all started when he got his first job at Thomas Cook. He had just graduated from the University of Nottingham and possessed an undergraduate degree in Agricultural and food Sciences. His education portfolio earned him a position in the financial sector of Thomas Cook. But with time he gained an interest for technology. He was moved to the technology innovations function of the company. With no time, he developed an online real-time trading platform, Virtual Trading Desk, the first of its kind. He launched VTD in the year 1998 and won the British Telecom Award for Innovativeness.

 

In the year 2000, Greg Secker began working for Fortune 500’s biggest investment bank at the time, Mellon Financial Corporation. He was the Vice president of the company up until the year 2003. All the while, he used to operate a trading floor from his home. He told Ideamensch that the idea to start a trading floor from his home was part inspiration and partly out of boredom.

 

He narrated of how he was bored spending his whole day behind the bank’s investment screens and had to find something to fill his days. With time, Greg had researched and learnt everything about trading began training other people how to make money out of it. His hobby turned into an obsession and it was no longer about the money. He wanted to do everything to ensure that people could sustain themselves through trading. That is when he decided to quit his job and venture into trading education as a full time job.

 

In the year 2003 he began Learn to Trade, initially from his living room, but now the company has grown beyond national boundaries. He has successfully trained over 200,000 people on successful trading strategies.
