Motion picture super producer Lawrence Bender has a new and important role, which is the latest accomplishment within his long and storied career in entertainment.
According to a recent report published by Broadway World Los Angeles, the CW television station will be the future home of a new show called ‘Roswell, New Mexico,’ a reboot of a former UPN and WB show called ‘Roswell,’ which went off the air in 2002.
The original ‘Roswell’ television series was in the science fiction and catered to a teenage demographic. The series was originally created by Jason Katims and was based on a novel called ‘Roswell High’ written by author Melinda Metz.
However, the new ‘Roswell’ reboot series will have a modern twist to it and will fit in great with the current CW sci-fi lineup, which includes shows like The Originals, iZombie, and Supernatural. An all-star cast and production team will has been tapped as well.
Lawrence Bender Productions, Bender’s film production company, will be working in association with a team of other talented movie makers. Carina Adly MacKenzie, Kevin Kelly Brown, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, and Julie Plec are on the production team.
Kevin Kelly Brown was an executive producer of the first ‘Roswell’ series and will help Bender and Company make this reboot a big television hit. The name Lawrence Bender is synonymous with what it takes to make big cinematic hits.
Legendary screenwriter/director Quentin Tarantino enlisted the expertise of Lawrence Bender Productions to help make almost all the films that are a part of the illustrious Tarantino movie catalog.
Classics such as ‘Reservoir Dogs,’ ‘Pulp Fiction,’ ‘Jackie Brown,’ and ‘Inglourious Basterds‘ are a part of the Bender-Tarantino collective of great American films. For this new ‘Roswell’ reboot, Julie Plec will be taking on a different role.
Plec is best known for her work as a writer and producer (The Vampire Diaries, The Originals). However, for the pilot episode of ‘Roswell, New Mexico,’ Plec will be in the director’s seat, which is a newly embraced role for her.
