Kelcy Warren, co-founder and executive chairman of Energy Transfer, stands as a formidable
figure in the energy sector, having transformed the company into a pipeline
powerhouse over the past few decades. Born and raised in the rural areas of
East Texas, Warren’s early exposure to the oil and gas industry laid the foundation
for his future endeavors. 

Warren’s journey in the energy sector began with Lone Star Gas Co. after he graduated from the
University of Texas at Arlington. His career trajectory took a significant turn
when he joined Endevco, a pipeline and refining company. When Endevco
encountered financial difficulties, Warren collaborated with investors Ray C.
Davis and Ben Cook to purchase, revamp, and eventually sell the company,
setting the stage for the establishment of Energy Transfer in 1996.
